Time to re-check the color with the sample. The color is very close but the base color is still to white compared to the yellow/amber of the sample. I was hoping that the amber color added in by the two top coats of Spar varnish would do the job, but it still needed a little more adjusting. The next top coat of Spar varnish was tinted with a little Amber/Fruitwood NGR stain and some Burnt Umber Japan Color. The extra pigment added in the varnish not only corrected the color but will also help protect against UV light bleaching.
