After
the color work is completed we apply 3 coats of satin or
dull sheen lacquer, sanding between coats with 400 grit
free-cut sandpaper. Depending on the type of lacquer used
the piece is left to dry from between 2 days and 2 weeks.
The tops are then fine sanded and hand polished to a sheen
that is appropriate to the period and style of the
original. The base is hand rubbed and waxed also just like
the original finish was.
