After the stain has dried, (about 15 minutes) a coat of vinyl sealer is applied. Vinyl sealer works better than regular lacquer sanding sealed on most restoration jobs. It has superior adhesion and water resistance, and also acts as a barrier coat to keep solvents from penetrating.
