Restoration Services We Provide
| Furniture Refinishing
The right finish on each
and every item. That's what its all about.
Doing the job right the first time! We
offer authentic antique finishes in
shellac, butter milk paint or French
polish, custom finishes like high gloss
Chinese lacquer, acrylic lacquer,
pre-catalyzed and post-catalyzed finishes,
varnishes and urethanes. We mix our own
stains to achieve the precise color
required from oil base stains, NGR stains,
Japan colors, water and alcohol dye stains.
The first priority in restoration finishing
is to preserve and protect the wood. The
second is to bring out the beauty and
high-lights of the wood grain. The Master's
Touch does both on every item we restore.
What we achieve is the look of an old
authentic finish in excellent condition
rather than an antique with the new
refinished look. See our Price Guide

| Fire & Smoke
Damage Restoration
Fire and Smoke damaged
furniture whether new or antique present
special problems in restoration. Blistered
or melted finishes, charred and singed
wood, general discoloring from heat, smoke
and soot to name a few. Over the years we
have economically restored many items other
shop and Insurance companies have written
off as a "Total Loss". This type of damage
is often accompanied by water damage too.

| Water
Damage Restoration
Next to fire damage, water
can be the biggest threat to antiques and
fine furniture. The fiber cellulose nature
of wood and many types of glue are highly
susceptible to water damage. Quick action
is needed to stop the damage. Removing the
items form the source of water, wipe off
excess moisture and use fans to air dry.
Wood exposed to heavy moisture will swell,
split, crack and glue joints fall apart. In
some cases it can take over a year for the
full extent of water damage to be known.
Restorations can only be performed after
the items are thoroughly dried. The
Master's Touch can often restore the
original finish rather than refinish. Newer
items and items with a finish in good
condition can withstand a lot of water
damage. Older items assembled with hide
glue and finished with shellac generally
suffer the most damage.

| Spot Touch-ups, Scratch Removal
Restoring that flea market

expensive. Nicks, scratches, burns, white
ring marks - all can be touched-up at
minimal cost. If the finish is not aged, it
can be "clear-coated" to both revitalize
the finish and protect the beauty of the
wood.
